Due to a fire in 2001 Sweetbryar lost most documentation of the art she created over a lifetime and all paintings that were still in her possession were destroyed. While this was a terrible personal loss, it was also the ultimate housecleaning and opened up the way for Sweetbryar to start a completely new phase of her creative work.
